Social Skills

AxIS believes that social skills are a critical piece needed for each individual to reach his or her fullest potential.

In-Home or Community Based Social Skills: Along with other fundamental skills, an individual’s social skills will be assessed. At times, it is to the individual’s benefit to teach foundational skills in the home or in a community setting such as at school, the park, or another public place.

The Silver Orange Teen Center: AxIS has partnered up with a local non-profit and is able to use the teen center where 1:1 social skills can be taught to an individual with his or her therapist in a natural setting geared towards the pre-teen and teenage years. This setting allows the individual to interact with teenage peers by engaging in a wide variety of age appropriate activities. Placement in this setting is determined by the assessing and clinical team.
